Ballarat Badminton Association offers a variety of options for juniors including pennant, a regular social club, tournaments and coaching.

Where

All Junior competitions, clubs and coaching sessions are conducted at the Ken Kay Badminton Stadium in Dowling Street Wendouree.

Junior Pennant

Who

Players aged Under 18. Most players are between the ages of 9 & 14.

Format

Mixed teams of 4. Individual entries are accepted by BBA. The Junior Committee then organises and grades teams prior to the start of the season.

When

Thursday afternoons

C & D grades 4:15 start
A & B grades 5:15 start

Cost

$4 per child per night

Junior Social Club

A wonderful way to start out in the sport of badminton, juniors and families can come down and practice, socialise and learn about the game in a supervised setting. Everyone is welcome for a cost of $2.

When

Friday evenings 4 – 6 PM

Junior Development Squad

The Development squad consists of structured coaching sessions covering basic techniques, rules and skills taught by qualified coaches.

Mondays 4:15 - 5:15pm during school terms
  Fridays 4 - 5pm during school terms

Cost

$40 per school term or $5 per session.

Primary School Comp

Held during Terms 2 & 3 this competition allows Primary school aged children to form a team and play in a social fun environment against other children of a similar age and ability from other local Primary Schools.

Junior Tournaments

The BBA runs regular junior tournaments and sends Ballarat representative teams to competitions such as the Victorian Junior Teams Championships. Please check the calendar, latest news and upcoming events pages for information regarding these events.
Childrens Birthday Parties
BBA is now hosting childrens badminton parties. Parties include a 45 min games and activities session with a qualified instructor, use of the stadium for 2 hrs, and your own party room. For more information on BBA birthday parties please click here. or contact Rhonda at the stadium on 5339 4601.
