UB WestVic Academy Mission : | |||
| The UB WestVic Academy of Sports mission is to provide talented Western region athletes with access to coaching and education programs of excellence, assisting them to reach their full sporting and personal potential and enhance their access to pathways to state and national representation. | ||||
| The UB WestVic Carlton Badminton program currently involves 45 players in the Ballarat and Horsham districts. The program boasts an impressive coaching staff including National Junior coach Rhonda Cator, 1990 Commonwealth Games Represenative Andrew Perks, Commonwealth and Olympic Games Representative Stuart Brehaut. | ||||
| *In February 2006 Erin Carroll became the first player involved in the badminton program to be selected to represent Australia at a senior level when she was chosen as part of a ten player badminton team for the M2006 Commonwealth Games. In January 2007 three players were chosen as part of a six player team to represent Australia at the Australian Youth Olympics Festival. More recently in 2009 Nathan David and Tara Pilven were chosen to represent Australia at the 2009 World Junior Championships in Alor Star, Malaysia. | ||||
