| Pilven Qualifies for Youth Olympics March 2, 2010 UB WestVic Academy badminton athlete Tara Pilven has qualified for the 2010 Youth Olympic Games to be held in Singapore in August. Pilven won the right to be Australia’s female singles representative by winning the Junior Women’s Singles at the Oceania Championships in Invercargill, New Zealand on Saturday. Junior Tournament Entry Lists & Draws Available Online February 25, 2010 BBA's Under 11, 13, 15, 17 & 19 tournament will start with mixed doubles to be followed by singles and then doubles. Matches will be called at 8:50am. Although we can not guarantee the starting time for singles matches we would greatly appreciate if players not playing mixed would report to the stadium by 10:30am. |

| Draws and results are available online here. Under 11 girls doubles & Under 13 boys doubles will be played using the alternating doubles system. This means every player, plays each match with a different partner and opposition. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us at the stadium. |

| BBA Come & Try Day February, 2010 BBA will be hosting a come and try day on Sunday March 14th. This is a great opportunity to invite your family, friends and work colleagues to come along and try badminton. The stadium will be open from 10am til 2pm. All equipment and a BBQ lunch will be provided free of charge. |

| BBA Christmas / New Year Opening Hours December 4th, 2009 The stadium will be closed from December 19th to January 10th for the Christmas break and from January 16th to 26th for the resurfacing of courts. 2010 Summer Junior Development & Training Camps November 13, 2009 Once again BBA will be running junior badminton training camps during the January School Holidays. The Development Training Camp is suitable for beginners and young developing players. The Summer Training Camp is aimed at junior players with more playing experience. | Groups wishing to use the stadium can have access to the stadium's equipment, courts and BBQ. If you are part of a community, sporting, social or school group that would like to use the stadium's facilities please contact the stadium to discuss the possibilities. |

| BBA Trivia Night - Friday October 23rd. October 9, 2009 BBA will be hosting a Trivia Night as the Associations main 2009 fundraiser on Friday October 23rd. Tickets are $15 per person for tables of up to 10 people and can be booked through the BBA office. The top 3 winning teams will receive Rebel Sports vouchers. The cost is $15 per ticket and it is BYO supper. Drinks can be purchased at the bar. No BYO drinks sorry. Memorabilia will be auctioned off during the evening. More info |

| The latest event was a family social night for Ballarats Indian Community held on Monday April 6th. 45 members of Ballarat Indian Community enjoyed a hit of badminton before sharing a BBQ tea. If you are involved in a cultural, school, kindergarden, or community group that would like to use the stadiums facilities for a social night or day please contact the stadium. |

Over 1000 Students to Participate in April Badminton Clinics. March 31st, 2009 Each year BBA offers free clinics to Ballarat and district primary schools. This year over one thousand students will participate in the 2 week program. There is still sessions available. If you would like your school to be involved please contact the stadium. |

Premiers Active Families Challenge February 20, 2009 Between March 8th and April 19th Victorian families are being challenged to exercise for 30 minutes each day. As part of this program BBA will be hosting a come and try day on Sunday March 22nd. This is a great opportunity to invite your family, friends and work colleagues to come along and try badminton. You don't need to sign up for the challenge just come in and enjoy the opportunity for a free morning of badminton. The stadium will be open from 10am til 1pm. | December 1, 2008 As an incentive and reward, those members who are selected to represent Victoria or Australia, will be eligible to receive financial assistance through the BBA Elite Player Scheme. In 2009, the Ballarat Badminton Association will provide a total of $1000 in grants. This pool of money will be divided amongst the successful applicants. Applications must be received by November 1st of each year, and will be awarded at the BBA AGM. For information about the 2009 Elite player scheme please click here. |

BBA, Badminton Victoria, VicHealth and the Center for Multicultural Youth are working together to run a Multicultural Come and Try Day at the Ballarat Badminton Stadium on Friday November 28th. The day is aimed at migrants and new arrivals to the Ballarat community. Participants will be provided with free court hire and coaching and a BBQ lunch. The event will feature Under 13, 15, 17 & 21 agegroups and is sure to attract players aiming to gain extra match practice in the lead up to the Val Nesbitt Under 15 carnival scheduled for October 1-5th. | ||||
